My doctor just told me that if the abscess comes back, they're going to remove half the ducts in my breast which will, in her words, lead to permanent disfigurement and "loss of volume". Oh, and complete loss of sensation in the nipple.

If it keeps coming back after that, I may be looking at an eventual masectomy.
