please use your powers for good
Wednesday, January 9th, 2013 10:11 pmsooooo... 2013, you officially suck for both me and my friends. YOU ARE ON NOTICE, YEAR. SHAPE UP OR I'M BOYCOTTING YOU COMPLETELY.
anyway in other news I got bored tonight and bleached my hair the first stage into blonde in preparation for the upcoming EXTRAVAGANZA OF COLOR.
( pictures of my original hair color )( NEW HOTNESS )
So part of the problem is that neither my mom nor I have ever bleached our hair at home before. Also my hair is probably twice as long as it was the last time we dyed it, and I haven't dyed it (or bleached it, obviously, this is my first time ever bleaching) since I started growing it out again from a shaved state back in January 2008. IT WAS ALL VIRGIN UNTIL TONIGHT, SOB SOB SNIFF.
So my mom started putting the bleach on at the top and basically we figured out that my hair is actually too long and WAY too thick for one person to bleach it all in time!
By the time she started putting bleach on the ends, the top of my head was nearly done. Uh, normally I'm guessing that's not a huge problem for people, but I have like 5x as much hair as everyone else, so.
Now, well, my mom thinks I should keep it like this and dye over it like it is now——but since there are some strands that are very nearly the original color, I disagree.
That means I have the exciting task of deep conditioning it repeatedly (probably daily or every other day at the very least) until the dyes I bleached it for get here. Then bleach the parts that didn't get crispy this time for like 20 minutes... and then dye it.
(It helps if you don't really give a fuck if you fry off all of your hair, btw.)
Regardless of how THE FINAL RESULT of my hair fabulousity turns out, it's got to be way better than this year, which so far seems comprised mostly of shitty things happening to myself and my closest friends and people I love being at the end of their ropes. Fuck that.
Grab some color and join me, my peeps!
