10 Things (and their caveats) You May Not Know About Me:

1. I don't eat pork. Like porkchops. Yeah. I don't eat that.
1a. Not because I'm Muslim or awesome, but because pork tastes funny.
1b. Bacon is tasty, though. I'm a baco-vegetarian. Bacon is a vegetable.
1c. Bacon is not a vegetable. I was making a joke.
1d. In case you're wondering, other commonly accepted foods I don't enjoy: mashed potatoes (it's the texture), most forms of animal flesh.
1e. I used to be a vegetarian and sometimes still claim to be one, simply because it's way easier than explaining what I do and do not eat.
1f. I could probably force myself to eat a pork chop if I was starving. Maybe. I'd rather eat octopus than pork.

2. I make obscure references to every movie, song, internet site or book I've ever seen and liked.
2a. I once compared someone's need to be strong to Fezzik's strength in "The Princess Bride" and how it's ridiculous to try to get along without friends because even Fezzik, strongest man alive, needs Inigo! And Inigo needs Fezzik!
2b. I may then have said Fezzik/Inigo OTP! but this cannot be confirmed by reliable (i.e. not hysterically laughing) witnesses.
2c. I still say "____ is pastede on yay." because I am stuck in 2004.

3. I dance while I cook.

4. In fact, I pretty much dance whenever I'm happy and listening to music.

5. Sometimes I listen to my music collection and I think "Damn. That's a good song. I think whoever likes this song has great taste in music."
5a. Then I remember that I have great taste in music.
5b. Then I like myself for a little while.

6. Calling me pretentious or affected is the quickest way to piss me off. I stopped putting on a show for the benefit of others a hellaciously long time ago, and it pisses me off that people think I would.
6a. So I assume whoever calls me that is jealous, and funny, they usually are.
6b. Not that I understand why they would be jealous, because hello, phenomenal cosmic powers, itty bitty living space, but yeah.

7. People tend to assume I have a very large ego, and then are surprised when it turns out I am in fact one of the most insecure people in the entire world.
7a. Or they realign their assumptions and decide I have both a superiority complex and an inferiority complex.
7b. I like it when people agree with my recognition of the fact that I'm a very complex person.

8. If you don't like the movies Surf Ninjas and/or Empire Records, I don't want to know you. Just defriend me now.
8a. Amnesty may be granted if you haven't seen Surf Ninjas yet. Not everyone has seen the cinematical masterpiece that is the majesty of Ernie Reyes Jr., Ernie Reyes Sr., Rob Schneider, Leslie Nielsen, and fucking Tone Loc together, in one movie.
8b. People who lampoon Surf Ninjas have somehow managed to miss the point that it is a SPOOF. I fear for these people's souls.
8c. Empire Records, open 'til midnight. . . . Midnight! phone slams down.
8d. SHOOOOOPLIIIIIIIIIIFTERRRRRRRR.

9. I now want to make an icon from the music video in the last post that has the guy garroting the woman with a celery. The text? Why, HARDC0RE VEGAN of course.
9a. I have a recurring fantasy of making a music video, imagery consisting of Kirk romancing lots of alien women while Spock looks on forlornly in the background, to Girls Aloud - "Models"; if you have ever heard this song, you will understand the brilliance of my idea.

10. Everything, in the end, comes back to the thing I think is most important in life: my intelligence. Love. All kinds of love, all ways of expressing love for all kinds of different nouns—that's what makes my life worth living.
