i am, i am superman, and i can do anything
Thursday, October 1st, 2009 07:12 pmProbably of interest only to me, but who knows.
My UI is kind of complicated, so I've prepared a number of screenshots to help illustrate it. Warning: This may be more of a look inside my head than you wanted.
Here's a screenshot of what my UI looks like in a raid setting.
Note that healbot is directly below/on top of my feet so that I can see fires&bad shit to move out of them, because I pretty much pay attention to only healbot.
Also note that the tanks' bars are colored in while the rest of you suckers only get a color if you take dmg or pull aggro. That's because I generally only pre-emptively heal the tanks.

Confused? Not sure where all those addons come from/go?
Let's see that screenshot again with some annotation.

(Addons featured in this screenshot: Fubar, Xperl, Elkano's Buffbars, DoTimer, SexyMap, RaidCooldowns, MinimapButtonFrame, WinterTime, Carbonite, Healbot, SunnViewportArt, Chatter, Dominos, Recount.)
But Alie! you say. I want to see what it looks like when you're not just standing around waiting for whatever!
Perfect, I tell you. Here I am playing my baby shaman Aqui in pvp.
You can see on this screenshot a few different things which would also show up on Alie if I had the time to take a screenshot in the middle of healing all you fuckers, which I do not.

Namely the cast timers by Quartz (the flat casting bar in the middle of the screen) and OmniCC, which tells me exactly how long I have on a cooldown without having to resort to trying to figure out if the square is 1/3 full or 1/4 full.
You can also see VisualHeal there, which gives me a indication of exactly how much I'm healing anyone for directly (doesn't track hots, unlike Healbot). (Note: when I dinged I was immediately at full health and mana, as opposed to right before the screenshot when I was about to die, for anyone curious as to why I'm overhealing myself in PVP.)
The red bars surrounding the person's name in Healbot is how I know who has aggro, by the way.

To illustrate a few more addons, I need some more screenshots!
This is another one taken when I dinged (automatically by DingRecorder). This was done after I reconfigured MinimapButtonFrame on Aqui to be a single line above my spells.
(Can't do that on Alie because HealBot is always right there and I need the space for the raid/Quartz and VisualHeal.)

And finally, some addons that only show up when you bring them up:

And old school Alie shows you Outfitter, part of Auctioneer's data package, and DruidStats!

I also use Auctioneer but you've all seen an auction window. There are a lot of others, like AutoMagic, Atlas, BadKitty, PallyPower and SKG that I don't have good screenshots of in use.
(btw, if you're curious after all of this, I use approximately 125 addons. And yes, my Elkano's Buffbars windows really do say "Good Shit" instead of buffs, etc. :P)
