erikaNot that I really want to talk about this, but ... some things need to be remembered.
I very rarely get allergic reactions. VERY VERY rarely. I'm allergic to some fragrances, in the "mildly annoying & then I get a headache" kind of way, I'm allergic to some fabric softener that uses those fragrances (swell up like a balloon, but not life-threateningly).
Anyway, after the aspiration, the doctor stuck on a circular bandaid. A tiny one, by the way. I was like ... this is ridiculous, but I didn't say anything.
Lo and behold, within 2 hours, the skin underneath the bandaid had completely dissolved. [sarcasm] Yay. [/sarcasm] I changed the bandaid for a better one, and everything was okay... OR SO I THOUGHT.
Fastforward to today. Since I changed the bandage yesterday, I figured I'd just take a quick shower today. Got the bandage wet but no big deal, it was still sticking.
Oh yeah, big deal. BIG HUGE DEAL.
I started getting itchy in the area about half an hour after the shower. No big, I ignored it. And ignored it, and ignored it. I finally left class almost an hour early and got home and just SCREAMED because the itch had transmuted itself into a pain because I couldn't allow myself to scratch.
I checked the medicine cabinet. No benadryl. I considered killing someone and or ripping off my breast (seriously it was HORRIBLE), but decided to see if my brother could bike over the the market & pick me up some. his friend was coming over so that was an unfortunate no.
I managed to drive myself to the grocery store, where I fully made a fool of myself by opening the children's liquid benadryl in the aisle and chugging it down. (Don't worry, I paid for it.)
And now I'm basically drunk. Whee, benadryl.
