Birthday went well. I enjoyed eating out with my family on Wednesday and on Thursday, my actual birthday, we had cake. It was really good times.

My mom gave me books, and amazingly, she managed not to give me anything I already had. My dad went the safe route and got me a book gift card. :D

Well, I read romance novels, sci-fi/fantasy, and YA novels, so if you like any of those, I definitely have some to recommmend.

YA novels I really have liked recently:
Mistwood ~ Leah Cypress. Fantasy, AU. I picked it up at the library and it's fascinating, with a twist I wasn't even expecting at the end (although really if I'd been smarter I would've picked up on it).

Alosha ~ Christopher Pike, etc (series). Fantasy, our world but just a bit different. It's a bit young for me, but I really like what I've read so far.

Wings and Spells (series) ~ Aprilynne Pike. Fantasy, our world but she finds out that the main character finds out she's different. (I do NOT recommend reading spoilers for this series, it's much more enjoyable when you don't know who or WHAT she is either.)
