I think adulthood's fun is mostly a lie we tell children so they want to grow up. I mean, what's the truth?

The truth is: you can "eat all the candy you want", but you don't because a) it doesn't taste as good, b) it gives you cavities and you have to pay for your own dental bills, and c) it kinda makes you sick.

You can "do whatever you want", but you still have to a) follow ethical/religious/governmental laws, b) support yourself, c) ideally Make Something of yourself etc.

You can "buy all the toys you ever wanted" except you a) don't really want them as much, b) never have money to buy the really cool stuff anyway, just like you didn't when you were a kid, except now you're working a 40 hour work week to have only slightly more spending money than you did when you had an allowance.

So far, the only good things I've noticed about being an adult are: the sex, and the sex. (Yes, I said sex twice. Because if you're having it with me, it's that good.)

Finding that there are different pleasures in adulthood that were invisible to, or beyond the grasp of, childhood?

Or just, different ideas of fun. (Which applies between different groups of adults as well.)
