So about three hours ago, I realized that my tab count was sitting around the 100 mark, and I thought to myself oh, that's why my computer and I are fighting.

My computer and I have an agreement. It only crashes for no reason when I'm afk (extremely frustrating for troubleshooting, but ideal for actually using it); I use Chrome and side-eye Firefox even though the 20+ plug-ins I use would probably be less memory-hog if I used Firefox, because I like google keeping track of everything I do* and my computer agrees to not be bitchy if I'm browsing a reasonable number of tabs. Like, less than 60.

*pro tip: this works if you have a bad memory, like I do. If you have issues about preserving your privacy and not, you know, handing over all of your personal data to a large faceless corporation which has a defined rule of "Don't Be Evil" yet seems to take that more as a guideline than an actual boundary, I do not recommend this route.

Over 80 tabs open and my computer starts getting a little misanthropic.

Over 100 and now the computer becomes downright bitchy. "I don't want to open any new programs, no, YOU CANNOT WRITE A JOURNAL ENTRY ABOUT THIS, you need to control your browsing habits here," it communicates, crankily, through its refusal to open Semagic (still clinging!) for longer than 3 seconds after I've clicked on it, not to mention the ANGST in switching tabs.

Butbut—I stammer. No dice. Computer is putting its non-existent feet down.

Anyway, so I embark on a journey of closing tabs and windows that I'm actually not using, collating the info for later use, etc etc.

How am I doing with that? Um. Well.

Now I have 120 tabs open.
