Oh hai.

Did I mention I drove through torrential rain a few days ago?

Here's a pretty map of Iowa showing the aggregate rainfall on the day I was driving.

This is my route:



If you didn't click on the bigger map, the redder the area, the worse the rain.

On one hand, this explains why I couldn't see more than 45 yards/meters ahead of me at times. On the other hand, the route home would've been worse the other way (going north first, and then going east).

On the gripping hand, IT TURNED OUT I DIDN'T HAVE TO BE HOME THAT DAY.

Good news, from nearly 2 months later: We're NOT having another flood! They think. Unless, you know, it rains again. Which, considering that it's June in Iowa... we're probably having another flood. sigh
