Did I mention I drove through torrential rain a few days ago?

Here's a pretty map of Iowa showing the aggregate rainfall on the day I was driving.

This is my route:



If you didn't click on the bigger map, the redder the area, the worse the rain.

On one hand, this explains why I couldn't see more than 45 yards/meters ahead of me at times. On the other hand, the route home would've been worse the other way (going north first, and then going east).

On the gripping hand, IT TURNED OUT I DIDN'T HAVE TO BE HOME THAT DAY.

I would just like to point out that I took like, 20 minutes to look up the various cities on my route and get the map I drew with the dots in the correct places and all of that and this is my first comment on this VERY SHORT POST which, I'm glad YOU still love me but obviously no one else does, I'm going to cry now.

Also, John being bitchy is always the right choice.

I'm sure everyone else was just too stunned by all the rain that looks like to successfully find the post comment button after typing in their own variation on "that's a whole fucking lot of rain to drive through". This is a common downside of successful infographic creation! According to the Highly Accredited & Authorized Manual of Facts I Just Made Up.

Is John and Kirk being bitchy TOGETHER ever the right choice, or would that constitute a very wrong choice instead? Or maybe so wrong it comes out right again? I can't decide.

I now want an SGA/ST:AOS crossover where Spock and McKay bond over what it's like to be with deeply damaged men who refuse to admit it.

I think Spock would butt heads with McKay at first over his lack of diplomacy/personal boundaries but then would approve of the logical effect of not wasting one's incredibly limited human time with idiots, especially as McKay is effectively constantly in a crisis situation.

Good news, from nearly 2 months later: We're NOT having another flood! They think. Unless, you know, it rains again. Which, considering that it's June in Iowa... we're probably having another flood. sigh
