begins to vaporize
Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 08:47 amI lost my pens through some weird black hole of nature
all of them except for a blue one.
and my one back up black one which I'm now afraid to touch.
This has upset me extremely. I tried talking to Alena about it and she got very bitchy and all "the new one is much better!" (youtube link, she did not actually SAY THAT)
But NO ONE around here sells the right kind (uniball vision EXACT, micro black).
I don't even have the money to order the right kind online.
This is how much of a loser I am. I had a panic attack over losing pens. Seriously, I swear to god I cannot think of a single place they could be I haven't looked.

on Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 04:05 pm (UTC)Secondly, I just put those Uniballs on my shopping list and I'll see if they've got 'em at Fred Meyer next time I go. I also have a Waterman Phileas fountain pen here I'm gonna send you, because last year I upgraded to a wicked awesome Pelikan 250 (a generous gift from nick_scratch) and I don't use it anymore. Fountain pens are even cooler than rollerballs, in my eyes, and maybe you'll prefer them also... if not, you can pass it on.
They can be tricky to get used to, but fountain pens are great for forcing you to exercise fine motor control. There's some evidence that this helps heal sections of the brain that have been damaged by trauma--for example, veterans who learn to knit find that knitting helps their PTSD.

Seriously, at this rate I'm going to have to write a book and dedicate it to you, future me.
Rest taken to email, give me a minute.

on Sunday, March 23rd, 2008 09:37 pm (UTC)You are awesome. Have I told you that lately? Because seriously, huge sigh of relief.
I also found one of the pens, so I'm no longer freaking out like a ... freak (apparently only having a blue and a backup black pen is a sign of the apocalypse but having a black, a blue, and the backup is a-OK) but your comment has somehow taken a burden off my shoulders.
Also if you do manage to find the uniballs (vision exact, not vision elite, sorry, I'm pedantic) I may walk to your domicile and rub your feet or something. With my tears.
I totally got a haircut though (yes, pictures incoming ;) from your camera!), so I can no longer be all Mary Magdalene with Jesus. I'll have to bring one of the dogs and use their ears or something.

Did you seriously complain to Alena that you were having a spaz attack over having the wrong color pen and then label her understandably dismissive response as "very bitchy"? I don't think sane people are required to agree with you that this is a crisis. I think they're allowed to say you're being a nut!
