I lost my pens through some weird black hole of nature
all of them except for a blue one.

and my one back up black one which I'm now afraid to touch.

This has upset me extremely. I tried talking to Alena about it and she got very bitchy and all "the new one is much better!" (youtube link, she did not actually SAY THAT)

But NO ONE around here sells the right kind (uniball vision EXACT, micro black).

I don't even have the money to order the right kind online.

This is how much of a loser I am. I had a panic attack over losing pens. Seriously, I swear to god I cannot think of a single place they could be I haven't looked.

[edited to add, or whatever.]

Everything I lose goes into the Black Hole beneath the couch, because that's where the cats stash everything they steal while I'm asleep. But I suspect Teyla and Ronon are not so organized.

Dude, first off, there's no clinical depression like John Darnielle clinical depression. What this means is that you should NOT be listening to the Mountain Goats in this state of mind! If you must, let it be "We Shall All Be Healed," which is their most hopeful album.

Secondly, I just put those Uniballs on my shopping list and I'll see if they've got 'em at Fred Meyer next time I go. I also have a Waterman Phileas fountain pen here I'm gonna send you, because last year I upgraded to a wicked awesome Pelikan 250 (a generous gift from nick_scratch) and I don't use it anymore. Fountain pens are even cooler than rollerballs, in my eyes, and maybe you'll prefer them also... if not, you can pass it on.

They can be tricky to get used to, but fountain pens are great for forcing you to exercise fine motor control. There's some evidence that this helps heal sections of the brain that have been damaged by trauma--for example, veterans who learn to knit find that knitting helps their PTSD.

Oh, I actually have two Phileases, I just checked! One blue and one red. Which one would you like?

Here is some cool information about the Phileas line:

But you're not a loser. So you had a freakout. Big deal, happens to alot of people.

Have you read The New Mood Therapy by David M Burns? Very good book. Highly recommended.

Waaait a minute. I just came back here to see what kind of pens I was supposed to pick up and noticed this line for the first time:

"I tried talking to Alena about it and she got very bitchy and all "the new one is much better!"

Did you seriously complain to Alena that you were having a spaz attack over having the wrong color pen and then label her understandably dismissive response as "very bitchy"? I don't think sane people are required to agree with you that this is a crisis. I think they're allowed to say you're being a nut!

Oh, duh, I'm just completely culturally illiterate since my TiVo stopped working. I'm also the kind of person who laughs at the funniest joke in a movie and doesn't understand why no one else is even chuckling. Later, over drinks, someone will ask, "Kim, why did you laugh at that stupid joke that everyone has seen in the previews five thousand times?" I live in a cave, that's why!
